Marriage Enhancement Seminars

More Enjoyment, Less Struggle

Active Communication seminar information

What is a marriage enhancement seminar?

It is a fun teaching environment where you learn how to do what you want to do, that is, to make your relationship more enjoyable.

  • Bring connection, joy, and intimacy to your marriage or any relationship.
  • Learn to resolve conflicts without fighting.
  • Understand and overcome obstacles caused by your hot buttons, communications patterns, and stress responses.

No one wants to develop a sour relationship, but many marriages go that way and people become miserable and even divorce. Differences and conflict in relationships are inevitable. It isn't a matter of wanting to fight, it's a matter of not knowing better ways to resolve differences and conflict.

There is no criticism and blaming in this seminar. There is no confession, finger pointing, or sharing bad experiences. There is no counseling, therapy, or group counseling.* It lets you take away the walls of resentment and bad expectations that stop progress, and begin to build a better relationship.

*This seminar may be used as an addition to marriage counseling or therapy, but not as a substitute. If you are in counseling or therapy, ask your counselor or therapist. This course may help prevent marriages from sliding into difficulties.

Active Communication is just one of many relationship enhancement seminars that can be given. Watch more specifically for seminars on romance and intimacy, money personalities, and dating.

Who can attend?

Anyone who is in a relationship or may be in a relationship. The marriage relationship is specifically addressed, but the skills learned in this seminar apply to any relationship. Age and length of marriage are not an issue.

Where did this seminar come from?

Marriage therapists have worked for many years to find the keys to better relationships. A large, knowledgeable, experienced, and supportive community exists in this field. Kelly Simpson, MA PSYC., LMFT, worked for many years doing marriage therapy and university research to find the best methods, and then put them into a seminar. This seminar is based on "evidence based" methodology - which means only those methods that show strong evidence during a rigorous critical evaluation of experience and outside factors, and which predict the best outcome, are actually used.

This seminar has been proven in practice, and is used by the US military. Feedback from clients is excellent. The seminars are often featured in the national and local news.

Although this seminar can be presented through churches, there are no religious themes present in this seminar as presented by TechGenie Media.

TechGenie Media is one presenter of this seminar in the area West of St. Louis, MO.

What is the process?

The seminar is presented through teaching a group in a comfortable and interactive setting. Sessions are planned as four, four hour sessions, or two 6 hour plus 1 four hour session (or many 2 hour sessions). Seminars are typically presented at a central meeting place such as a church, conference center, or resort convenient to your area.

The seminar is presented by an ARC certified facilitator.
